Over the past couple of years at SAIC, I have been able to find a middle between creating personal work and course work. I enjoy working with playing type and illustrative elements in my course work, and keeping it to simple illustrations when I do personal work. However, throughout my years here I have been able to combine both my way of creating work in certain projects, which for me are my favorite.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project was for the Identity Systems course where we had to choose one organization/company to rebrand their logo and/or logo mark. I chose to do the Lincoln Park Zoo since, in all honesty, I was/am not a fan of their current logo/logo-mark. Through what felt like an endless development, I ended with a design that I could be proud of.

WHY ARE YOU PROUD OF THIS PROJECT?

I felt that it this project was more realistic to work on and develop. With the combination of research into the Lincoln Park Zoo and the constant changes to my design over the course, it was something that made me into a better designer and gave me a taste of what it would be like to actually do the rebrand for an organization.

FAVORITE FONT?

My current favorite has to be between Quasimodo and SF Pro Display.
